The Chrudimka is navigable from the dykes near Hamr all the way along the mouth to the Elbe. The upper section flowing through meadows and forests all the way beyond the Seč dyke is ideal for experienced water sportsmen and is navigable in spring or after heavy rainfall. The mid section surrounded by a beautiful forested valley flows beyond the Svidnice dyke. It is navigable in relation to filling the dam and is suitable for experienced and skilled water sportsmen. The lower part flowing through meadows and lowlands into the mouth leading to the Elbe is intended for beginners and can be navigated all the way to Chrudim depending on whether the dam is filled or not and for most of the year. It is a river which is dammed numerous times by dams - Seč, Křižanovice and the distribution reservoir Práčov. The most beautiful and yet most dangerous section is deemed the upper one, which is dangerous thanks to its very overgrown narrow river bed in a quick flow to Trhové Kamenici, and also the demanding section with boulders in the valley called Hell, where it is possible to come across fallen trees and reserve fences in the river. On the upper and mid section there are two protected areas – protected landscape areas Žďárské Peaks and the Iron Mountains.
