An execution site was originally located near the cemetery. Such an undignified site is typical for a Jewish cemetery; the authorities sold Jews the least valuable grounds for their pious locations. The origin likely dates to the first half of the 17th century and burials were performed here up until the Second World War. The oldest preserved tombstones are from the 17th century, and of particular value are the Baroque and Classicist tombstones, including the eastern Bohemian asymmetrical stela, so-called ram’s horns. Inscriptions on the tombstones are in Hebrew, Hebrew-Czech, Hebrew-German, and Czech-German.
